The 18th – 23rd of August saw around 4,000 geochemists descend on the Spanish city of Barcelona for Goldschmidt 2019, the world’s premier geochemisty conference organised by the European Association of Geochemistry and the Geochemical Society.
SELFRAG was invited by Goldschmidt session conveners to give a presentation on their recent advances in raw material recovery from industrial waste, highlighting research conducted into concrete, electronic waste and IBA fragmentation. The room was full with interested parties who left the session knowing a little more about SELFRAG’s efforts toward a circular economy.
The full presentation has been uploaded to our ResearchGate account and can be found here.
Our work on the HISER Project with BRGM and other parties formed the core of this presentation, and the key data presented can be founf in the 2018 Minerals Engineering article:
SELFRAG application development specialist Dan Parvaz was among the Swiss delegates attending the conference and enjoyed meeting existing Lab users and collaborators and the technical discussion that ensued, as well as new research opportunities – the first generation of lab users now have their own PhD and MSc students who wish to use our systems. The fruitful discussion at conferences such as Goldschmidt always leads to new research questions and opportunities. The test work for some of these has been concluded and will be presented as application notes on or website in the future – follow us on twitter @SELFRAG_AG to find out when they are published.
