Since the groundbreaking ceremony in summer, the construction of our second flagship project, the SELFRAG Centro Due in Kerzers (FR), has been moving forward in leaps and bounds. With this facility, we are setting a new milestone in the Swiss circular economy by treating up to 45,000 tonnes of Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA), recovering highly relevant metals and minerals from IBA.
Construction Milestones Achieved
The initial groundwork and civil engineering phase is complete. The major structural groundwork milestone was successfully reached at the end of August.
The structural work for the buildings are now underway. Teams are focusing on the required foundations and structure, which includes implementing the necessary de-water concept (roof and drainage).
Next Steps
Following the building completion in early spring 2026, the focus will shift entirely to the move-in and installation of the core process systems.
The completed project contributes directly to resource recovery and reduction of landfill mass in Switzerland.
