Real infrastructure, measurable impact

Our waste-to-value facilities process 80'000 tonnes of IBA annually, avoiding thousands of tonnes of CO2 emissions. With every new Centro, our impact grows.

From IBA to CO2 savings

Our patented High Voltage Pulse (HVP) technology enables efficient recovery of valuable raw materials from incinerator bottom ash (IBA) — measurably avoiding CO2 emissions in the process.

1

IBA Delivery

Waste incineration plants deliver their incinerator bottom ash (IBA) to our waste-to-value facilities.
2

HVP Fragmentation

High voltage pulses selectively fragment the material under water. Metals remain intact, minerals are liberated.
3

Raw Material Recovery

50% of the mass is recovered: metals, iron oxide, minerals. 3x more than conventional methods.
4

CO2 Quantification

Every avoided tonne of CO2 is quantified and documented, based on measured material flows and transparent process data.

CO2 savings you can trust

Built on industrial precision, Swiss engineering, and transparent processes you can audit end-to-end.

Physically verifiable

Visit our facilities, measure the output, audit the process. Every credit is backed by real infrastructure.

Made in Switzerland

Short value chain, transparent processes, Swiss quality standards. Facilities in Aargau and Fribourg.

Measurable & transparent

Every tonne of CO2 avoided is quantified and documented. Open to independent verification at any time.

Permanent by design

Our industrial process delivers immediate, irreversible impact. Once recovered, the avoided emissions are permanent.

Scalable platform

Each new Centro adds measurable capacity. Our patented HVP technology is the same across all facilities, so impact scales with our network.

Double impact

Beyond CO2 avoidance: raw material recovery, landfill reduction, and contribution to the circular economy.

CO2 savings you can measure

Every tonne of IBA processed by Selfrag avoids CO2 emissions from primary raw material production. The impact is physically real, technically measurable, and grounded in more than a decade of industrial operation.

Visit our facilities. Follow the material. Audit the process.

Good to know

What is CO2 avoidance from the circular economy?

By recovering metals and minerals from incineration slag, the mining of primary raw materials is avoided. Primary extraction is extremely CO2-intensive, so every tonne of secondary raw material we produce directly reduces emissions at the source.

What makes Selfrag's CO2 savings different?

Most CO2 claims are based on future promises, forests or nature. Ours are grounded in existing industrial infrastructure: IBA processed today, metals recovered today, emissions avoided today. Physical, measurable, irreversible.

How does High Voltage Pulse (HVP) technology work?

High voltage pulses selectively fragment incineration slag under water. Metals remain intact and can be recovered by type. The process achieves a recovery rate of 50%, three times more than conventional methods.

Where are Selfrag's facilities located?

Centro Uno is located in Full-Reuenthal (Aargau) and has been operational since 2023. Centro Due in Kerzers (Fribourg) is under construction and will be commissioned in 2026. Additional sites are in the planning stage with a target of 5 to 6 facilities across Switzerland.

How can I support Selfrag's CO2 savings?

Get in touch through the form below. We'll discuss your sustainability goals and find the right way to collaborate — whether that's visiting a Centro, co-investing, or a long-term supply partnership.

Who benefits from Selfrag's CO2 savings?

For companies with sustainability targets looking to offset their unavoidable emissions with high-quality, transparent credits, especially those who value Swiss origin and physical verifiability.

What about permanence of CO2 avoidance?

Permanence risk refers to the possibility that CO2 avoidance is reversed later. This is common with nature-based approaches: forests can burn, be logged, or suffer disease. Our industrial process has no such risk — once metals are recovered, emissions from primary production are permanently avoided.
