From incinerator bottom ash to certified CO2 savings
Verified CO2 savings from Swiss waste-to-value operations. Physically verifiable, measurable, and grounded in real industrial infrastructure.
Real infrastructure, measurable impact
Our waste-to-value facilities process 80'000 tonnes of IBA annually, avoiding thousands of tonnes of CO2 emissions. With every new Centro, our impact grows.
Centro Uno
Capacity: 35'000 t IBA/year
Operational since: March 2023
CO2 savings: ~17'500 tonnes/year
Centro Due
Capacity: 45'000 t IBA/year
Commissioning: 2026
CO2 savings: ~22'500 tonnes/year
Centro Tre
Capacity: 45'000 t IBA/year
Status: Feasibility study
CO2 savings: ~22'500 tonnes/year
From IBA to CO2 savings
Our patented High Voltage Pulse (HVP) technology enables efficient recovery of valuable raw materials from incinerator bottom ash (IBA) — measurably avoiding CO2 emissions in the process.

CO2 savings you can trust
Built on industrial precision, Swiss engineering, and transparent processes you can audit end-to-end.
CO2 savings you can measure
Every tonne of IBA processed by Selfrag avoids CO2 emissions from primary raw material production. The impact is physically real, technically measurable, and grounded in more than a decade of industrial operation.

Good to know
By recovering metals and minerals from incineration slag, the mining of primary raw materials is avoided. Primary extraction is extremely CO2-intensive, so every tonne of secondary raw material we produce directly reduces emissions at the source.
Most CO2 claims are based on future promises, forests or nature. Ours are grounded in existing industrial infrastructure: IBA processed today, metals recovered today, emissions avoided today. Physical, measurable, irreversible.
High voltage pulses selectively fragment incineration slag under water. Metals remain intact and can be recovered by type. The process achieves a recovery rate of 50%, three times more than conventional methods.
Centro Uno is located in Full-Reuenthal (Aargau) and has been operational since 2023. Centro Due in Kerzers (Fribourg) is under construction and will be commissioned in 2026. Additional sites are in the planning stage with a target of 5 to 6 facilities across Switzerland.
Get in touch through the form below. We'll discuss your sustainability goals and find the right way to collaborate — whether that's visiting a Centro, co-investing, or a long-term supply partnership.
For companies with sustainability targets looking to offset their unavoidable emissions with high-quality, transparent credits, especially those who value Swiss origin and physical verifiability.
Permanence risk refers to the possibility that CO2 avoidance is reversed later. This is common with nature-based approaches: forests can burn, be logged, or suffer disease. Our industrial process has no such risk — once metals are recovered, emissions from primary production are permanently avoided.
